Conference
play got under way in earnest within the WRC this weekend. The results saw
Covington emerge as a contender for the title. The Trojans picked up their
second WRC victory on Friday night when they edged Attica 56-54. It was the
renewal of Indiana’s longest running rivalry.
Elsewhere in
the WRC, Seeger picked up a win in their conference opener. The Patriots downed
North Vermillion 76-65. Turkey Run won a Parke County showdown over Riverton
Parke 56-30.

Rockville and Fountain Central were in non-conference action on Friday night.
The Rox had no trouble with North Putnam, trouncing the Cougars 87-56. Fountain
Central found the sledding a bit tougher against Clinton Prairie, falling
63-45.
Saturday saw
Attica down that same Clinton Prairie squad 39-36. Seeger ventured out of
conference to tackle Tri-County 60-41.
This coming
Friday has two games of real interest around the area. Covington and Turkey Run
will put their undefeated WRC records on the line against each other at Turkey
Run. Meanwhile, Indianapolis Chatard will come to call at Rockville.
